Around the world, cities are at the forefront of this struggle, serving as hubs of opportunity while facing critical vulnerabilities to climate change, resource constraints, and socio-economic disparities.

The concept of “Carbon Neutrality” refers to achieving a balance between the amount of carbon dioxide (CO₂) emitted into the atmosphere and the amount removed or offset, resulting in net-zero carbon emissions. This concept is crucial for mitigating climate change and aligns with global initiatives & Actions like the UAE’s Net Zero by 2050 strategy.

This forum, “Climate Actions for Carbon Neutrality”, provides a platform to unite thought leaders, policymakers, researchers, and practitioners from diverse sectors. Over the first day, participants will engage in meaningful dialogue, share transformative ideas, and explore actionable strategies for building cities that prioritise sustainability and human well-being.

7th May 2025

Day two will be a focused internal session with selected experts to discuss the Ajman Strategy for Climate Neutrality project. The session aims to review the project’s current progress, identify key challenges and opportunities, and outline the next steps for implementation in alignment with Ajman’s sustainability issue draft of the Ajman Net Zero strategy.
