The Ajman Municipality and Planning Department announced details of the second edition of the Hamid bin Rashid International Sustainability Award. Nominations will be accepted from October 15, 2022, until May 15, 2023, and the winners will be announced in March 2024 during the Ajman International Conference.
Engineer Khaled Moeen Al Hosani, the Executive Director of the Public Health and Environment sector at the department, emphasized that the award aims to honor and encourage everything that supports a sustainable future. Whether it's research in the field of sustainability or individuals who have made contributions in this field. The award is also given to institutions that adopt and implement sustainability principles and become an exemplary model for other institutions.
Al-Hosani explained that the Hamid Bin Rashid International Sustainability Award covers various fields and topics in sustainability to attract a wide range of researchers and engineers. It is divided into three categories. The first is the award for the best research on sustainable cities. The second is for environmental figures who have an impact on innovation, introduce environmentally friendly technology, and support the concept of sustainability. The third is the award for the best government or private institution adopting the best green practices and contributing to the protection of natural resources, environmental conservation, and sustainable development.
