The Municipality and Planning Department in Ajman announced the intensification of preparations for the launch of the fifth edition of the Ajman International Environmental Conference, under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Ajman. The conference is scheduled for the 6th and 7th of March at the Sheikh Zayed Center for Conferences and Exhibitions at Ajman University. The event will feature the participation of 70 specialized experts, with the number of scientific research papers submitted to the conference increasing by 30% compared to previous editions. Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, the Chairman of the Municipality and Planning Department in Ajman, emphasized that the department is currently preparing for the environmental scientific conference, which is held every two years. This year's theme is "Climate Change and Sustainability," aiming to keep pace with developments in the vital environmental field. The international conference will include 70 specialized scientific papers that will undergo research and discussion. These papers cover the main axes of the conference, presented by researchers and scientists from 30 different countries around the world, spanning Asia, Africa, Europe, and the Americas. Sheikh Rashid Al Nuaimi noted that the conference revolves around four main issues and axes: adaptation mechanisms to climate change, climate change and sustainable cities, biodiversity and climate change, and global and local best practices in sustainability and innovation. The conference aligns with the outcomes of the Paris Climate Change Conference, serving as an extension of its four previous editions. The goal is to position Ajman on the international stage and enhance the vision of Ajman 2021, offering engaging presentations and insights from prominent innovators and experts. Engineer Khaled Muain Al-Hosani, the Executive Director of the Public Health and Environment Sector at the Municipality and Planning Department in Ajman and the head of the conference's organizing committee, mentioned that this year, the organizing committee received over 400 research papers from 49 countries worldwide. The committee selected the top 70 papers for participation in the conference. Additionally, it decided to hold four parallel sessions on the second day of the conference to maximize the benefit from the participating experts.
